Onwards and Upwards!

It's all change from now on, well from the 10th April actually.

I'll be moving on from my current employer to undertake an exciting new role as a consultant, for a firm that specialises in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.

It's an exciting opportunity for me and I'm looking forward to a new challenge in a new area.

For those of you who regularly Blog surf, you may know of my new boss, his name is Mark Rittman.
The company I will be working for is SolstonePlus.

Although I will be moving on from 'Newbie Status', I will still keep the Blog going as I think that Newbie resources are pretty much unexplored and still very much needed.

One thing I will be sharing with you all is the mentoring process that I will go through in my new role, in the hope that you too can learn from it.

So please join me in celebrating and raising a toast to the future!

Lisa, make sure you don't forget the "New Starter Tradition", in that you have to bring us all cakes in on the Monday and take us all out for a drink at lunchtime ;-)

Looking forward to you joining us,

Mark

That's OK with me, I assume I can claim it on expenses?

Agreed.
We'll just keep it between ourselves then.

See you for cakes and beer on the 10th...

Working for Mark - that ought to be fun!

What a coincidence that you, me and Lewis all changed jobs in the same week. Must be something in the air these days.

Good luck!

Mark,

I think we need to talk. Lisa is rather dangerous around liquids (and is known to be brutal to those who try to politely correct her manners). I hate to think what she would do with cakes (of course, I am thinking of the American versions that are large with great amounts of sticky icing).

Regards,
Dan 'Sippy Cup' Fink

P.S. You've hired a great gal...even if we do tease her unmercifully.

Brutal ain't the word for it Dan.

And to think, I still politely introduced her at the UKOUG. It could have been such a payback.

Maybe next time.

Lisa - good luck with this ;)

Not quite, Solstone are based in Brighton.

But I'll be based from home anyway so it just means lots of travelling!

I can't believe both Dan and Tom have both used the word 'brutal' to describe me!

I'm harmless, really!

I suppose Tom and I could post a test case to demonstrate the more than kind use of the word brutal...

Cakes and a drink at lunch... the UK sounds some traditional and formal. In the US, it's beer and pizza at 9 in the morning!

But congrats on the new job!

Well done Lisa. Show then Southerners how to handle a drink (but be careful not to spill it) ;-)

Best of Luck but I know you will not need that. Maybe bump into each other "daaarn saarf" for a cocktail or two.

Cheers

Lee
