More Newbie Resources

Way back in October last year, I wrote a post about good web resources for Newbies.

I'd like to point out another one that you may or may not have seen already.

The Dizwell Informatics site, maintained by Howard Rogers has some great articles for Newbie DBA's.

If you look to the links on the left, there are categories for Oracle Concepts, Oracle Basics and Backup and Recovery.

The articles are very 'Newbie friendly' and provide just the right level of detail - enough to help you out, but also encouraging you to do follow up work on your own.

The concepts section in particular is incredibly useful as it is broken down into 3 sub sections - Server Components, Server Management and Server Tools.

Each area is explained in a no-nonsense, easy to understand way, then followed by a set of exercises to give you some hands on practice and to make sure you have understood the concepts.

In addition to the brilliant articles, there is also the blog and the forum, where you can find a wealth of information.

If you haven't already visited the Dizwell site, then I suggest you go and have a look around.
